My artistic background started with photography in the early 1980s. A few years ago I began studying printmaking, blending a lifelong interest in multiples and an attraction to textures, strong colors and bold graphic shapes. The process-oriented, tactile quality and experimental and investigative nature of printmaking strongly appeals to me. Utilizing recycled materials and found objects and finding easy, simplified or inexpensive (as well as non-toxic) ways of creating images is also an interest, priority and concern. Through teaching printmaking I also learn. I find collaboration and artistic openness a great benefit and pleasure.
