Art Alliance Gallery Downtown presents In the Palm of Your Hand, the first of it’s annual “small art” group shows. In the spirit of the holiday season, we are bringing together artists who want to help you find the perfect unique piece of artwork for friends and family.
Poet Munia Khan once wrote, “Dust is the parent of a star”. Inspired by the notion that little things inspire big ideas, the Art Alliance Gallery Downtown is bringing together a collection of small but extraordinary artworks for our new exhibition In the Palm of Your Hand. Ranging in media, style, and subject, these tiny treasures will remind you that it’s the little things that make life beautiful.
I draw for the moment a drawing comes to life; when the eyes begin to look back at me, or when sunlight pours through the crack in the door…
I begin my collages by marbling, paste painting, and dyeing paper to create the colors and textures that are essential to my artwork.
Have you ever really looked at the sky or the trees and fields that surround us? I never really looked either before I started painting.
I started quilting in 2003 after taking quilting classes from Polly Miller.
Jennifer began exploring her creative side through an oil painting class at the Art Alliance of Central Pennsylvania.
Whenever anyone asks me the question: How long have you been an artist?, my answer is always the same…

In 1993, Steve turned to a long time passion for woodworking, full time.

Currently I am working on a series of painting based on my experience and response of my environment, a personal exploration of myself, my surrounding.
