The Kingdom Animalia is one of a handful of lineages rooted far back in the history of our existence. Its ancestry represents one of the three major origins of multicellularity, and represents vast and diverse life in the form of creatures who live alongside and sometimes in spite of their human counterparts. In this engaging exhibition, both wildlife and domesticated animal such as birds, horses, sheep, cows, cats and more become the subjects of works of contemporary art. Perennially popular as an artistic theme, Animalia features animal-inspired works by thirteen local and regional artists for an exhibition that is too charming to miss!
Artists are: Art Heim, Liz Liadis, Jason Lenox, Scott Owens, Amalia Shaltiel, Martha Taylor, George LaVanish, Anne Therese Pelikan, Maggie Scotilla, Nancy Brassington, Anne Buchanan, Char Casbourne, Betsy Rodgers Allen
